Media Overlay

Hello Developers,

I am using Media Overlay right now.
I want to know the option play auto.
Mostly I read the book on Ipad I need to click start reading.

Do you know any feature of Media Overlay can play auto?
I am looking forward to hear from you soon.

The media overlays specification does not define an autoplay feature. The reader must decide whether they want to begin synchronized audio/text playback and initiate it manually.

I don't know of any reading systems at this time that provide a user setting to enable automatic playback when a media overlay is present, but it's an interesting idea.

Yes, I have other question. I want to have event click on each words and system will read for us.
Example: in my book have one paragraph. "hello, I am new beginner of epub3". When I click on the word "hello" It will read only one word is "hello". In media overlay can do this? I am looking forward to hear from you soon.

That sounds more like a text-to-speech feature if you want to ensure it works across publications. It could be done with media overlays, but requires that the overlays be word-precise. That kind of precision is typically only done in short fixed-layout works, or when the process can be automated through an application that can analyze the audio and automatically find each new word's synch point.

From experience with DAISY digital talking books, most producers only synchronized to the sentence or paragraph level, which would not work for your needs as you wouldn't have the offset within the referenced clip to play for any given word.

I have another problem.
Media Overlay works unexpectely with this <meta property="rendition:spread">none</meta>. You have any idea with this problem?

I am looking forward to hear from you soon.
