Markus Gylling Joins IMS Global as Solutions Architect and Head of Operations for IMS Europe

IMS Global Learning Consortium (IMS Global/IMS), the world leader in EdTech interoperability and innovation have announced that Markus Gylling will join IMS Global to lead IMS efforts in accessibility and digital content and to serve as the primary executive for IMS Europe effective October 1, 2016. The appointment will help accelerate the effective adoption and use of e-textbooks and other digital learning materials for all learners worldwide and will strengthen support and integration resources for IMS members across Europe.

IDPF Members Elect Two New Board Directors, Return Six Incumbents

In its annual Board elections, 81 IDPF member organizations cast votes, selecting eight Board members from among twelve candidates. Newly elected to the IDPF Board are Mike Baker (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) and Tzviya Siegman (Wiley). All six incumbents who ran for re-election were selected, including Paul Belfanti (Jone & Bartlett Learning), Leslie Hulse (HarperCollins), Rick Johnson (Ingram Content Group), Bill Kasdorf (Apex CoVangtage), Liisa McCloy-Kelley (Penguin Random House), and Junichi Yoshii (Kodansha).

On June 15 at UTC 14:00 (16:00 CEST, 10:00 U.S. ET) IDPF Europe'[s host EDRLab will facilitate a 90 minute interactive webinar regarding the prospective combination of IDPF with W3C. As announced on May 10 the IDPF is soliciting member feedback and comments with this webinar as part of the process. This call will open with a brief summary of the current status, followed by open discussion and Q&A.

IDPF Board Election Under Way - Vote By June 17

The annual election process for the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) Board of Directors has begun. Twelve candidates, including six incumbents, are standing for election to eight director positions. Each IDPF member organization's primary representative is eligible to vote, and has been sent an online ballot link via email. The election will be open through Friday, June 17, 2016.
