Nomination for IDPF Board of Directors, November 2012 election

Erica Lazzaro - OverDrive

Fellow IDPF Members,

I respectfully submit my nomination as a candidate for the IDPF Board of Directors.

As OverDrive, Inc.’s General Counsel I have been privileged to work with representatives of nearly every stakeholder group in the digital content industry- from publishers, to retailers, to technology companies, to institutions. OverDrive’s position as a global distributor and technology company requires the balancing of these stakeholder interests.

As member of the IDPF board I would bring the same balancing of interests to the table- balancing the commercial interests of for profit stakeholders with institutional interests of libraries, school and universities.

In addition to managing the legal affairs of OverDrive, I also lead the company’s Publisher Partner Services and Retail Partner Services teams. As a result, I have been involved in forming new and maintaining existing relationships a business development capacity for OverDrive. As such, I have detailed knowledge of relevant technologies, ecosystems relevant to our industry and the business implications of each.

OverDrive is proud to have been a founding member of the IDPF (fka Open eBook Forum) and has been an active participant and contributor in conferences and working groups throughout the organization’s history. I welcome the opportunity to contribute to shaping the next phase of evolution of the IDPF through my service on the board of directors.
